Why Shimano Reels Are Better Than Others

Shimano fishing reels are the highest sellers today compared to other fishing reels those are being sold in the market. No matter which ever part of the fishing reel you are looking for Shimano is going to have it to offer you. But I certainly do think that this is not enough to convince anybody that this brand is better than the others in the market. So request you to go through the under mentioned which would help you to make some good decisions.

Shimano was founded in the 1920’s and its survival till date is good enough to talk about the kind of quality stuff that it produces. To buy any thing related to the fishing equipments you certainly can go to the stores to buy or else you can choose the official site to buy the things on the net. Certainly there would be a whole bunch of e stores that would sell Shimano fishing reels at a cost lesser than the official site for it. But it’s really important that you know what you are buying when purchasing stuff from the internet. The other very good option would be to try the purchase from the E bay site. You surely would be able to save a lot of money by doing that.

In case you are looking for some legendary stuff that would keep working for years on end than you should certainly consider the Curado 200 series of wheels. They are a real value for money. That is because it’s noted for being able to handle an incredible 12 pounds of pressure. But talking of the new Curado 200 series, I would like to mention here that it might not be possible for everybody to understand the features of the newer model and how it stands superior to the old one. Thus to help you understand the same here are some points that I would like to highlight.

No matter what you are looking for in the reels, starting from the high efficiency gearing, super free casting, and variety breaking system so on and so forth. These Shimano Curado 200 series of wheels have everything to offer you and make you feel satisfied with the product. You need to keep in mind that the walls of these wheels are thin, which makes them lighter. Thus they are good to catch fishes which are lighter in weight abut they might not prove that good when you are angling a fish that’s heavier in weight.

When you go to the market you certainly would see other products which are somewhat of similar quality but at cheaper costs.

A Primer on Fly Fishing Reels

What is fly fishing reel? It can be said that it is a work of art. This was patented in the year 1874 by Charles Orvis, who is also called the epic master of fly fishing. Since then, his family members have been making equipment for fly fishing in some form or the other. With the development of technology, reels have now become more sophisticated. The reel is very important for fly fishing. They still have some basic component.

Let us compare between fly reels and bait reels. There is a lot of difference between the two. Fly reel requires a lot of touch on your part. Line is laid out with control over the line and non casting hand. This is how casting is done. It does take a long time to get used to this. But what is important is to understand that the reel is not a device. It will not let you swing like a non fly rod.

The fly reels originally were very simple. These were used to serve only one purpose. The purpose was to bring the line inside. There was no drag offered. This meant that if you have snagged a big fish, then there were chances for you to do some serious damage to your arm. The mechanism in drag can be used to slow or to stop the line. This can be done when the fish take the bat and you want to stop it from feeding.

Fly fish has become very popular. Because of its popularity, people have started looking at fly fishing as a bigger game. But the problem here is that since many fly reels are not tailored to take in a beast, it does create problem. If there is a big fish which is stuck on the fly, it will make the line reel out. There is no way to stop it. The only way then is to wear gloves or to hold the line.

This problem is solved now as the new reels are made to break the mechanism. There is friction which is created by the mechanism on the line. This has two effects on the line. Either it slow down on the feed or it completely stops the feed. There are specified rods available for these reels. The rods cannot be bolted one onto the other. The will then tend to snap. They are not designed in such a way to carry loads.

The next question which comes to your mind is what type of reel should be used. It depends on the efficiency of the reel. Many people think that the new reels which have a breaking mechanism is a break from the traditional reel and do not serve the cause. The answer may vary from person to person. Try both the options and then make your own choice.
